About OBDpedia
OBDpedia is a free reference for understanding a car's OBD2 fault codes and deciding what to do: whether you can keep driving, what to check first, and when to go to a repair shop.
How the content is created
- Definitions: based on open lists of generic codes, cross-checked against one another.
- Detailed pages: the most common codes have a dedicated page with symptoms, causes, and checks, written with the help of artificial intelligence.
- General guidance pages: all other codes are explained based on the component and type of fault. They are labeled as such.
Limits
A code shows what the control module detects, not which part needs replacing. Values and procedures vary by manufacturer, so this information is for general guidance and does not replace a professional or the service manual.
Corrections
If you find an error, write to us at hola@middo.net and include the code and the car's model.
