P07CF: Transmission Mode Switch D Circuit Low

Transmission mode switches select alternative shift programs such as sport, winter or tow/haul; the J2012 family runs from A (P071A–P071C) and B (P071D–P071F) to C (base code P078F), D and E. No manufacturer document available to us uses switches C to E; GM reads its analog mode switch under its own codes (low below 21–29 % of 5 V, high from 94 %, two trips) and newer drive mode selectors under P05D0–P05D3. P07CF means the signal of mode switch D is below its lower limit – a short to ground or a button stuck against ground. The opposite is P07D0.
