P07D6: Transmission Mode Switch F Circuit High

Transmission mode switches select alternative shift programs such as sport, winter, eco or tow/haul; J2012 numbers them A to F without saying which button is which. Switch F is the sixth and last of the family after A (P071A–P071C), B (P071D–P071F), C (P078F, P07CC, P07CD), D (P07CE–P07D0) and E (P07D1–P07D3). No manufacturer document available to us uses switches C to F; GM reads its analog drive mode switch under its own codes (low below 21–29 % of 5 V, high from 94 %, two trips), newer selectors under P05D0–P05D3. P07D6 means the signal of switch F is above its upper limit – an open circuit at the pulled-up input or a short to positive. The opposite is P07D5.
