P0B0D is an internal fault of the module that drives the auxiliary pump motor. GM documents it for the auxiliary transmission pump controller (ATPC) in its 2011 and 2014 hybrid tables and for the 2016 Cadillac ELR: it checks processor integrity, such as SPI hardware faults or a wrong seed and key between processors, with more than 9.5 V supply; 28 failures out of 32 samples in a 6.25 ms loop, detected within about 200 ms, set a Type A fault. Stellantis lists P0B0D-00 on the 2021-25 Jeep Wrangler 4xe and 2022-25 Grand Cherokee 4xe with the 8P75PH plug-in transmission (TSB 21-038-25, revised 21-041-26): MIL and limp mode, sometimes with U0287; the fix is a new in-pan electric pump. U0287 is lost communication with the pump module, P0C23 to P0C25 its circuit.
Medium severity. Can I keep driving? It depends on the symptoms. If the car is running normally you can go to a repair shop; if it goes into limp mode, drive as little as possible.
Symptoms
- MIL on
- Transmission in limp mode
- Possibly lost communication with the pump module (U0287)
Most likely causes
- Electric pump with integrated control electronics failed (Jeep 4xe 8P75PH)
- Processor or memory fault inside the pump control module
- Supply voltage dips or poor ground at the module
What to check, in order
Start with the simplest. You can tick off each step.
Good to know
- Repair difficulty: hard
- It can trigger limp mode.
- It affects emissions.
What each character of P0B0D means
- P: Powertrain: engine and transmission
- 0: Generic code: same on every make
- B: Subsystem depends on the code range
- 0D: Specific fault in that system
Frequently asked questions
