P0E7E: Coolant Bypass Valve B Control Circuit Range/Performance

P0E7E marks a control circuit of coolant bypass valve B that is electrically intact but does not respond as calibrated: actuator current, feedback or timing lie outside the window the software expects. Stellantis lists P0E7E most often of the valve B codes. Bulletin 18-106-25 from December 2025 covers model year 2026 RAM 1500 trucks with the high-output Hurricane built up to 7 October 2025 and calls for an engine control module update; the 2026 bulletins 18-071-26 and 18-082-26 repeat the code for the 2025 RAM and Wagoneer. Since a software fix is the documented remedy, a sluggish but working valve often turns out not to be the culprit. CARB requires functional monitoring of outputs, not only circuit checks. The pure wiring faults are P0E7B to P0E7D, mechanical sticking P0E7F and P0E80.

Medium severity. Can I keep driving?Watch the temperature gauge. If it climbs or a warning appears, stop the car in a safe place and turn off the engine: overheating can cause serious damage.

Symptoms

  • Check engine light
  • Usually no change in driving behaviour

Most likely causes

  • Engine control calibration fixed by bulletin 18-106-25 or 18-071-26 (Stellantis)
  • Valve B actuator moving slowly or not reaching its target
  • Corroded connector raising circuit resistance

What to check, in order

Start with the simplest. You can tick off each step.

Good to know

  • Repair difficulty: medium
  • It affects emissions.

What each character of P0E7E means

  • P: Powertrain: engine and transmission
  • 0: Generic code: same on every make
  • E: Subsystem depends on the code range
  • 7E: Specific fault in that system
