P2427: EGR Cooling Valve Control Circuit High

P2427 points to the high side: the control line of the EGR cooling valve is pulled towards battery voltage or the stage sees excessive current. VW's 2014 Touareg 3.0 TDI chart (CNRB) states the criterion as a current above 2.20 A, a sign of a short in the actuator winding or wiring to supply. Ford handles P2427 together with P2426 on its diesel engines within one permanently running short test of the cooler bypass actuator, 2 seconds to fail. To protect itself the driver stage usually switches off, so the flap remains wherever its spring holds it. Check the supply side of the harness and measure the coil resistance before replacing the valve; P2425 and P2426 are the open and low cases.
