P2583 points to the front distance sensor of adaptive cruise control – the only radar, or the centre unit where several are fitted. The engine module keeps the code because adaptive cruise acts directly on engine torque. Honda uses P2583 with failure type 76: bulletin 21-068 for 2017–2021 Accord, Civic, CR-V and Insight ties P2583-76, a temporary stop of the driver support system due to millimetre-wave radar misalignment, to snow and ice on the radar face in near-freezing weather and adds a radar software update; bulletin 26-036 covers unexpected ACC cancellation with the same code on 2023–2026 CR-V models, again fixed by software. Left and right sensors have P2591 and P2592. Until fixed, adaptive cruise and collision braking stay off.
