P260F: EVAP System Monitoring Processor Performance

Some evaporative leak tests run long after the engine is switched off, so Ford gives them a small dedicated processor that works during the soak. P260F is set when that monitoring processor does not behave as intended. In Ford's 2020–2023 gasoline OBD summary it belongs to the engine-off natural vacuum (EONV) test for 0.020 inch leaks, which may run at most twice a day after the vehicle has soaked for 3.5–6 hours; the processor check itself is continuous and takes about 5 seconds. Ford marks the code with a MIL in its 2014 list. Because the module also relies on CAN communication, tank pressure sensing and the vent solenoid, wiring or supply faults can trigger it as well as an internal fault. Without a working processor the small leak test (P0456) cannot complete, so readiness may stay incomplete.
