Variable-displacement A/C compressors change their output through an electric control valve on the back of the compressor housing. On Ford's externally controlled design the PCM drives that valve with a pulse-width signal and aims for an evaporator temperature of roughly 3 to 8 °C; Volkswagen calls the part regulator valve N280, a coil of around 10 ohms. P265F stands for a control circuit that is electrically intact but behaves implausibly, for example a measured valve current that does not follow the commanded duty cycle, or pressures that do not react. No manufacturer documents P265F publicly; Ford lists only the circuit codes P06A0 to P06A2, which this code complements. Expect weak or fluctuating cooling.
