P276C: Electric/Auxiliary Transmission Fluid Pump B Motor Supply Voltage Circuit High

P276C flags an excessive voltage on the motor supply of auxiliary pump B. Either the circuit is shorted to another powered line, the pump module measures wrongly, or the vehicle charging system itself overshoots. No manufacturer documents P276C publicly. Audi's bulletin 34-17-25 identifies pump B on its 0CJ, 0CK and 0CL dual-clutch units as the gear oil pump V553 and lists the low-voltage sibling P276B for it; P0B0B is the matching high code for pump A. CARB requires actuators to be watched for out-of-range electrical values. An overvoltage can overheat the pump electronics, so many modules switch the pump off. Before replacing parts, measure the charging voltage at running engine and inspect the supply wiring for chafing.

Medium severity. Can I keep driving?Drive gently to a repair shop. If it slips, you hear clunks, or it loses its gears, do not keep driving.

Symptoms

  • Transmission warning lamp
  • Pump switched off, stop-start unavailable
  • Other overvoltage codes if charging is at fault

Most likely causes

  • Charging system voltage too high
  • Supply wire shorted to another powered circuit
  • Faulty measurement in the pump control electronics

What to check, in order

Start with the simplest. You can tick off each step.

Good to know

  • Repair difficulty: medium
  • It can trigger limp mode.

What each character of P276C means

  • P: Powertrain: engine and transmission
  • 2: Generic code: same on every make
  • 7: Transmission
  • 6C: Specific fault in that system
