P2775: Upshift Switch Circuit Range/Performance

P2775 covers an upshift paddle or tip switch whose voltage is electrically possible but belongs to neither of its two legal states. GM's twin-clutch TCM tables for 2023 and 2024 read the plus paddle as an analogue input: pressed should give 2.2–3.52 V, released 3.826–4.744 V. If the voltage sits outside both windows for 120 s, P2775 sets as Type C, so without MIL. Ford's 2024 summary for the TR9070 twin-clutch gearbox lists P2775 as illegal voltage on the upshift paddle input. Contact wear, moisture or a resistor drifting inside the switch are the usual reasons. A paddle held too long belongs to P0815, readings beyond the band to P2776 or P2777. Manual shifting by paddle is normally disabled.

Medium severity. Can I keep driving?Drive as little as possible and gently. If the transmission slips or stays in one gear, go slowly to a repair shop or call for a tow truck.

Symptoms

  • Upshift paddle has no effect, manual mode unavailable
  • Message on the cluster, normally no check engine light

Most likely causes

  • Worn or dirty contacts or drifting coding resistor in the paddle
  • Added resistance in the clock spring or steering wheel connector
  • Moisture or spilled liquid in the switch

What to check, in order

Start with the simplest. You can tick off each step.

Good to know

  • Repair difficulty: medium

What each character of P2775 means

  • P: Powertrain: engine and transmission
  • 2: Generic code: same on every make
  • 7: Transmission
  • 75: Specific fault in that system
