C0567: Brake Booster Solenoid Circuit Low

Brake booster solenoid control voltage below expected range. The booster solenoid is an electrically operated valve on the brake booster that lets the control module build up or increase assist without driver input, for example for emergency brake assist or automatic braking. If power assist is lost, the brakes still work through the master cylinder, but a much higher pedal force is needed.

High severity. Can I keep driving? The regular brakes usually keep working, but without ABS or the driver aids. Drive very carefully and go to a repair shop; if the pedal feel changes, do not keep driving.

Symptoms

  • Brake system warning lamp or message
  • Possible reduced brake assist
  • Firmer brake pedal, longer pedal travel or higher pedal force
  • Driver-assistance functions such as automatic emergency braking or adaptive cruise control may be disabled

Most likely causes

  • Wiring shorted to ground
  • Connector pins corroded - high contact resistance
  • Harness chafing through insulation

What to check, in order

Start with the simplest. You can tick off each step.

Good to know

  • Repair difficulty: medium
  • It can trigger limp mode.

What each character of C0567 means

  • C: Chassis

  • 5: Subsystem depends on the code range
  • 67: Specific fault in that system
