P0955: Auto Shift Manual Mode Circuit

Fault in the circuit that tells the transmission control whether the driver has moved the selector lever from D into the manual gate. A Nissan patent shows a dedicated manual mode switch with two contacts on separate inputs, so a break or a short to ground can be told apart; a Hyundai patent uses a microswitch on the lever. Genesis bulletins for 2017-18 G80 and G90 automatics list Auto Shift Manual Mode Circuit for the cable-shift version, with a check engine light and a part from the shift lever group as repair, though the table prints the code as P0995 and P095500. So at least Hyundai uses ASM for the manual mode of a torque converter automatic. P0956 to P0959 are the detailed variants, P0950 the up/down request circuit.
