P0A95 means the battery management detects that a fuse in the high-voltage circuit has opened, usually by comparing the voltage before and after the fuse. Several makers document it: Jaguar for the I-PACE battery energy control module, where a shorted high-voltage auxiliary component blows fuses in the junction box and battery module; Porsche for the Taycan as the main high-voltage fuse with a vehicle that will not become ready to drive; Volvo, whose procedure compares the voltage after the fuses with pack voltage; and Audi, which found an intermittent false entry in hard cornering fixed by software. P0E2F and P0E30 cover fuses B and C. Mostly the car cannot be driven until the cause is found.
Medium severity. Can I keep driving? If the car is running normally, drive in moderation to a repair shop. If it loses power or another warning appears, do not continue.
Symptoms
- Vehicle not ready to drive, propulsion warning
- MIL or yellow warning lamp
- Climate compressor or heater inoperative
Most likely causes
- Short circuit in a high-voltage auxiliary component (e.g. compressor, heater)
- Fuse opened after overload or ageing
- Faulty voltage measurement or software misdetection in the battery control module
What to check, in order
Start with the simplest. You can tick off each step.
Good to know
- It can trigger limp mode.
What each character of P0A95 means
- P: Powertrain: engine and transmission
- 0: Generic code: same on every make
- A: Hybrid or air and fuel
- 95: Specific fault in that system
