Open-circuit code for the gas injector of cylinder 8. No manufacturer documents this code publicly. In the two manufacturer-side lists found, the Ford overview from 2014 and TransEco's sheet for gas-converted Ford V8 and V10 trucks, cylinder 8 has only P22F6 and P22F7, and the TransEco table explicitly assigns an open line to P22F6. CARB permits this shortcut for output circuits. Where P22F5 is used, the module would flag it when no current flows through the cylinder 8 valve after it is commanded on. Typical findings are a pulled or corroded plug at the rear of the bank, a wire broken by engine movement or an internally open coil. That cylinder then gets no gas, while gasoline mode stays usable on bi-fuel trucks.
High severity. Can I keep driving? If you smell gas, do not keep driving or start the engine: move away and call for assistance. With no smell, drive moderately to an authorized shop.
Cylinder 8 is numbered according to the manufacturer: check your engine's manual before working on it.
Symptoms
- Cylinder 8 misfire whenever the engine runs on gas
