Cylinder 8 is the last cylinder with a generic gas injector code; beyond it the Altech-Eco/TransEco table for the Ford 6.8 V10 switches to manufacturer codes. P22F6 reports a control line for the cylinder 8 valve that is too low. That table counts a short to ground as well as an open line here, with MIL on bi-fuel vehicles only, and Ford's 2014 code list includes the code with MIL. For the driver the effect depends on the fault: a grounded line may keep gas flowing into cylinder 8 and enrich it, a broken one shuts it off. Either way the misfire shows up only in gas mode, which helps separate it from a gasoline injector fault such as P0208. Repair starts with the plug and harness at that valve.
High severity. Can I keep driving? If you smell gas, do not keep driving or start the engine: move away and call for assistance. With no smell, drive moderately to an authorized shop.
Cylinder 8 is numbered according to the manufacturer: check your engine's manual before working on it.
