Sensor power supplies A to D are separate outputs of a control module that feed groups of sensors; they are a different family from the 5 V sensor reference voltages (P0641 and following). D is the fourth such output. P26DF is the general or open-circuit code for it. Deutz uses it in its EMR5/MD1 engine controllers for ECU sensor supply voltage 4 (SPN 3512), with fault types for special instructions and for an unknown root cause, but publishes no thresholds. Other makers do not document P26DF in public. If supply D drops out, every sensor fed by it reports implausible values at the same moment, so a cluster of unrelated sensor codes is the typical picture. Low and high faults of the same output are P26E0 and P26E1.
Medium severity. Can I keep driving? If the car is running normally, drive in moderation to a repair shop. If it loses power or another warning appears, do not continue.
Symptoms
- Check engine light
- Several sensor codes stored together
- Reduced power or emergency mode depending on the sensors affected
Most likely causes
- Broken supply wire or splice to the sensors on output D
- Loose or corroded pin at the control module or a sensor
- Supply output D inside the control module failed
What to check, in order
Start with the simplest. You can tick off each step.
Good to know
- Repair difficulty: medium
- It can trigger limp mode.
- It affects emissions.
What each character of P26DF means
- P: Powertrain: engine and transmission
- 2: Generic code: same on every make
- 6: Control modules and outputs
- DF: Specific fault in that system
Frequently asked questions
