P2706: Shift Solenoid F

P2706 is the general code for the sixth shift solenoid, F. Ford's 2024 OBD summary uses it as the base for all shift solenoid F faults in its 10R60/10R80, 8F35/8F40, 8F57 and 8F24 transmissions: with a fault-type byte added, P2706 marks an open, a short to ground, a short to supply, an intermittent connection, stuck off and stuck on, each also carrying its own two-byte code such as P097F, P2707 or P2708. Ford's electrical check flags a fault once the smart driver has reported a wiring problem for 1.5 s. Stellantis calls the same position the MS solenoid on the Ram 68RFE, where bulletin 18-061-20 lists P2706 among codes cleared by new engine controller software. Ford's SSM 54595 names it with P2707 on 8F35 units that will not leave Park. Shifts involving the related clutch become harsh or are blocked.
