P2B32: Fan 2 Stuck On

With P2B32 the controller finds that the second radiator fan keeps operating, or does not change state, against its command. On conventional cars this usually traces back to a relay stuck closed, a fan 2 control line shorted to its active level or a module that has lost control of the motor. Audi documents P2B32 for the RS e-tron GT and the plain e-tron GT of model years 2022 to 2024 as symptom 59342 in thermal management J1024: debris entering via the wheel housing liner blocks the fan, which leads to poor cabin climate, reduced drive power or incomplete charging; the cure is a revised fan, shroud and liner set for the affected side. CARB requires fan outputs to be checked for correct reaction to commands. A fan that never stops may also drain the 12 V battery. P2B31 covers fan 2 doing too little, P2B30 fan 1 stuck on.

Medium severity. Can I keep driving?Watch the temperature gauge. If it climbs or a warning appears, stop the car in a safe place and turn off the engine: overheating can cause serious damage.

Symptoms

  • Fan audible after the vehicle is switched off
