P0C19 is a plausibility check: the torque that motor A actually delivers, calculated by the motor control processor, does not follow the slewed torque command. GM sets it when the difference exceeds 123 Nm for 0.1875 s within 0.2 s on the 2016 and 2018 tables, Type A, one trip; eAssist uses 36 Nm as Type B, two trips. The 2012 two-mode trucks check whether the sum of the three phase currents exceeds 110 A for 200 ms. Stellantis lists P0C19 on the Jeep Wrangler 4xe and the Wagoneer PHEV with P1B03, a resolver rationality fault, and cures it by reflashing the power inverter module. The electric drive shuts down and the engine takes over.
High severity. Can I keep driving? If the car still runs, drive as little as possible and go to a specialized repair shop. Do not touch the orange cables: they carry high voltage.
Symptoms
- Malfunction indicator lamp
- Electric drive shuts off and the engine takes over
- Engine stop-start no longer works or a service hybrid system warning appears
Most likely causes
- Outdated power inverter module software (Stellantis 08-059-25, 08-231-24)
- Implausible rotor position signal from the motor A resolver or its wiring
- Faulty phase current sensing distorting the calculated torque
- Internal fault of the inverter power stage or motor winding
What to check, in order
Start with the simplest. You can tick off each step.
Good to know
- It can trigger limp mode.
- It affects emissions.
What each character of P0C19 means
- P: Powertrain: engine and transmission
- 0: Generic code: same on every make
- C: Subsystem depends on the code range
- 19: Specific fault in that system
Frequently asked questions
