P0C1A compares the torque command for motor B with the torque the motor control processor calculates as actually delivered. GM's 2016, 2018 and 2019 tables set it when the difference exceeds 132 Nm for 0.1875 s in a 0.2 s window, Type A, one trip, and only while listed resolver and motor control faults are inactive. The 2011 Volt and 2012 two-mode tables also list it, the trucks with a three-phase current sum above 110 A. Chrysler documents it on the 2017 to 2023 Pacifica Hybrid: with resolver codes P0A3F, P0A43 or P0A45 it points to a short in the internal wiring connector of the eFlite transmission, which is replaced. P0C19 is motor A. Expect limp mode.
High severity. Can I keep driving? If the car still runs, drive as little as possible and go to a specialized repair shop. Do not touch the orange cables: they carry high voltage.
Symptoms
- Malfunction indicator lamp
- Vehicle in limp mode with reduced propulsion
- Hybrid system warning, engine runs more often
Most likely causes
- Short in the internal transmission wiring connector (Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid 21-008-23)
- Implausible rotor position signal from the motor B resolver
- Hybrid control or inverter module software requiring an update
- Faulty phase current sensing for motor B
What to check, in order
Start with the simplest. You can tick off each step.
Good to know
- It can trigger limp mode.
- It affects emissions.
What each character of P0C1A means
- P: Powertrain: engine and transmission
- 0: Generic code: same on every make
- C: Subsystem depends on the code range
- 1A: Specific fault in that system
