P0DD8: Hybrid/EV Battery Cell Balancing Circuit L

P0DD8 concerns the hardware of balancing circuit L, the twelfth group. No manufacturer documents it publicly; Ford, whose hybrid BECM runs through letter N, uses L only in the stuck codes P0DD9 and P0DDA. LG Chem's patent EP2730933A1 shows a way to test one balancing circuit through its neighbour: diagnosis resistors sit between each balancing circuit and its cell terminals, and when the circuit under test is switched on or off, the voltage measured across the adjacent circuit has to change in a known pattern.
