P2719: Pressure Control Solenoid D Control Circuit Range/Performance

P2719 means the electrical readings on the control circuit of solenoid D are implausible, although neither a clear open nor a clear short is present. In GM's 2016 table 16OBDG03 the T76 six-speed flags it when the hardware layer reports an invalid voltage in at least 4.4 of 5 seconds; valve D is the 2-6 brake there, and the code is listed without MIL. Bulletin PI0893 matches this for the 2013 6T70/6T75 in Enclave, SRX, XTS, Equinox, Malibu, Traverse, Acadia and Terrain: P2719, P2728 and P0965 are Type C codes that may be stored falsely at fluid temperatures from -0.5 to 0 °C in Park or Neutral, cause no drivability issue and need no parts. Only if the code stays active above 0 °C is normal circuit diagnosis due.

Medium severity. Can I keep driving?Drive as little as possible and gently. If the transmission slips or stays in one gear, go slowly to a repair shop or call for a tow truck.

Symptoms

  • Stored history code without noticeable symptoms
  • No MIL on GM vehicles (Type C)
  • Occasional shift quality changes if the fault is real

Most likely causes

  • False history code near freezing fluid temperature in Park/Neutral (GM 6T70/6T75)
  • High resistance at a terminal or splice
  • Solenoid coil with drifting resistance
  • Internal TCM measurement fault

What to check, in order

Start with the simplest. You can tick off each step.

Good to know

  • Repair difficulty: medium

What each character of P2719 means

  • P: Powertrain: engine and transmission
  • 2: Generic code: same on every make
  • 7: Transmission
  • 19: Specific fault in that system
