P2735: Pressure Control Solenoid F Intermittent

By its standard title P2735 reports that solenoid F or its circuit fails only now and then, so a static check in the workshop often finds nothing. GM uses the code differently on the dual-clutch gearbox of the 2023 and 2024 Corvette: there valve F is the clutch cooling valve, and P2735 stands for a stuck lube valve. The TCM triggers a current-profile test on the valve during stable driving with fluid at 60 °C or warmer and a cooling flow target below 3 l/min; if the result keeps indicating failure, it sets the code. GM rates it Type C, so it does not switch on the MIL. Other makers do not document P2735 publicly. Intermittent wiring or connector faults on valve F are the generic reading, while the Corvette case points to the cooling valve itself.

Medium severity. Can I keep driving?Drive as little as possible and gently. If the transmission slips or stays in one gear, go slowly to a repair shop or call for a tow truck.

Symptoms

  • Often no noticeable symptom, code stored without MIL (GM)
  • Occasional harsh shift or clutch judder
  • Clutch overheating warning after hard driving

Most likely causes

  • Clutch cooling/lube valve sticking (GM Corvette dual-clutch)
  • Loose or corroded connector causing dropouts
  • Contaminated fluid affecting valve movement
  • Harness chafing that opens under vibration

What to check, in order

Start with the simplest. You can tick off each step.

What each character of P2735 means

  • P: Powertrain: engine and transmission
  • 2: Generic code: same on every make
  • 7: Transmission
  • 35: Specific fault in that system
