P2AF5: Starter Relay C Stuck On

P2AF5 means starter relay C remains in its energised state when it should have dropped out. Stellantis uses it as Starter Relay 3 Stuck On for the power control relay of its dual-battery stop-start system: Jeep Grand Cherokee 2021 to 2025, Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer 2022 to 2025, RAM 1500 2025, and earlier Pacifica, Durango, Compass, Wrangler and Gladiator. In normal driving the relay is released and closed, so the main battery also charges the auxiliary one; if the PCM still sees a voltage gap between the two above a calibrated limit, it stores P2AF5 and disables stop-start. Owners report no cranking, no start or a dead auto-stop function. Stellantis checks battery terminals, the 150 A fuses and distribution centre connections, and notes false fails with a flat auxiliary battery that a battery disconnect clears.

Medium severity. Can I keep driving? If it starts normally you can keep driving, but avoid stopping anywhere you could not get help, because it might not restart.
