P22E3 tells that the cylinder 3 gas injector circuit is held high. TransEco Energy's AFCM list names a short to power, MIL on for bi-fuel use, and Ford's 2014 code list also ties P22E3 to the MIL. With the line stuck at supply voltage the injector cannot be switched on, so cylinder 3 gets no gas and misfires lean. In GM's bi-fuel Silverado layout the ECM calculates the pulse widths while a separate fuel injector control module passes them to the gas injectors, so the fault can sit in the wiring between that module and the injector, in the injector itself, or in the module output. Gasoline operation remains normal. P22E2 is the low side and P0268 the high-side code of the gasoline injector.
