P07ED: Transmission Range Multi-Function Select Circuit Stuck

'Transmission Range Multi-Function Select' is the multi-bit code of the shift-by-wire selector position: each position produces a fixed pattern of sensor states, and the module checks the pattern for logic errors. Mitsubishi's 2022 CVT with electric shift uses eight sensors (R: 1–2 on, N toward R: 1–5, home: all, N toward D: 4–8, D/M: 7–8). P07ED is the step after P07EC: at least two bits are stuck, so the position can no longer be decoded reliably. Mitsubishi then puts the drive in neutral and blocks changes between P, R, N and D, lights the MIL and the red or yellow shift warning; the car cannot be driven and has to be towed.
